על יחסי אבות ובנים, גיהנום וגאולה

והשבוע בפינתנו ארץ DC ירושלים:
"והשיב לב אבות על בנים ולב בנים על אבותם" מההפטרה

שמחר נקרא בפרשת "צו את אהרון ואת בניו"
על יחסי אבות ובנים, גיהנם וגאולה.

אחרי בניית המשכן ולימוד תורת הקורבנות משה מושח את אהרון ובניו לכהנים.

בהפטרה המקורית ירמיהו מזכיר שהקרבן הוא רק הכלי בדרך למטרה: "לא דיברתי את אבותיכם על עולה וזבח כי אם את הדבר הזה, והלכתם בכל הדרך אשר אצווה אתכם למען ייטב לכם"

אבל העם לא מקשיב: "ובנו במות התופת אשר בגיא בן הינם לשרוף את בניהם ואת בנותיהם באש"

מזעזע, אבל עם טוויסט.
בקצה העליון של גיא בן הינם התגלתה ברכת הכהנים אותה מברכים הורים את ילדיהם בערב שבת עד עצם היום הזה.

הנביא מלאכי נותן תקווה בהפטרת 'השבת הגדול' שלפני חג הגאולה:
" למימי אבותיכם סרתם מחוקי ולא שמרתם? שובה אלי ואשובה אליכם… וחמלתי עליכם כאשר יחמול איש על בנו"

ומה יקרה כשנשוב?
"ושבתם וראיתם בין צדיק לרשע בין עובד אלוהים לאשר לא עבדו"

בימים אלה בהם אנו ושכנינו רואים מי הצדיק ומי הרשע, מלמדים את ידינו לקרב ואצבעותינו למלחמה כדי להעביר את 'ממשלת הזדון מן הארץ'.
וכדי לקיים את פתיח ההפטרה:
"וערבה לה' מנחת יהודה וירושלים כימי עולם וכשנים קדמוניות"

About the relationship between father and son, Hell and redemption.

After building the Tabernacle and learning the laws of the sacrifices Moses is anointing Aaron and his sons to become Priests

In the original Haftarah Jeremiah reminds us that the sacrifice is only the vessel, the tool to achieve the goal:
"For I spoke not unto your fathers, nor commanded them concerning burnt-offerings or sacrifices; but this thing I commanded them, saying: 'Hearken unto My voice, and walk in all the way that I command you, that it may be well with you"

But the people don't listen:
"And they built the stages that are in the valley of Hinom (the Hebrew word for Hell) to burn their sons and daughters in fire"

Horrible, but with a twist.
At the highest point of the Valley of Hinom, archeologists found a scroll of the ancient blessing of the priests that parents bless their children every Friday night till this very day

The prophet Malachi who gives us Hope with the Haftarah of 'Shabat Hagadol' before the holiday of redemption:
"From the days of your fathers have turned aside from Mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto Me, and I will return unto you…. and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son"

What will happen when we return?
"Then shall again discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth Him not"

These days we and our neighbors are seeing who is the righteous and who is the wicked, training our hands to war, and our fingers to battle 'in order to expel the cruel regime from the earth'
And to achive the opening of the Haftarah "Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the LORD, as in the days of old, and as in ancient years"
