״From the river to the sea״

🇮🇱"From the river to the sea"🇮🇱

הפרשה פותחת בתיאור גן עדן עלי אדמות. אם נקשיב להוראות ההפעלה יהיה לנו טוב ואוכל מכל פירות הארץ. רק בסוף לא לשכוח ברכת המזון;

ENGLISH

The blessing in Eretz DC Yerushalaim:
🇮🇱"From the river to the sea"🇮🇱
(Deuteronomy 11:24)

Following the instructions from last week, tomorrow we will read Parashat Eikev "And it shall be, that as a Result of listening to these words"
about blessings, about the Land and about food.

The parsha opens describing a paradise. If we listen to the instructions, we will have a good life and food from all the fruits of the Land.
Just do not forget to bless;
"And you shall eat and be satisfied, and shall bless God for the good Land which he has given you."

Tonight, as we sit down to the Shabbat table, we will be surrounded by the symbols of the repeated blessing:
"Your Dagan Tirosh & Yitzhar."
Dagan- Grain, Challah. and because "Man shall not live by bread alone" then we will drink
Tirosh- Wine, or Kedem if you are out of the good land..
And Yitzhar – the oil in the Sabbath candles (and in the food, depends who is cooking)

True, the Land is good "a land on which the eyes of your God are upon it from the beginning of the year to the end of the year" but the war is so long! When and how will it end?
"God will destroy them and subdue them before you and you will dispossess them and quickly destroy them!"
That's it, so simple? What is the 'exit strategy"?
So the parasha answers:
"Every place where you set your foot shall be yours from the desert and Lebanon"
Okay, South & North I understand, what about East & West?
"From the River Euphrates to the last Sea"
Now chant:_____ The Holy Land will is free

What an exaggeration, what will we do with all this Land??
The Haftarah answers:
"look around you and see all have gathered together, they have come to you".

Here in the Diaspora, the enemy's supporters will always remind us that the Land of Israel is important.

The decision is ours, whether to internalize and talk about the Land,
or to ignore and complain about ""anti-Semitism"".

We wish that "hurry up sons, your spoilers and destroyers- will depart out of you" and when the Land is free from its destroyers, it will flourish as the seal of the Haftarah:
"God will comfort Zion from all her ruins
And he will make her wilderness – like Eden,
and her wasteland – like the garden of God"

May it will be a Shabbat of peace where "joy and gladness will be found, thanksgiving and the voice of singing".

In the picture – the Haftarah in Isaiah, in a copy of the Dead Sea Scroll.
And the table filled with "Land wheat and barley and vine and fig and pomegranate Land olives oil and honey".
With the pin symbolizing the shared values between the Good Land and the Museum of the Bible in DC
