המערב בפינתנו ארץ KY ירושלים- 'המקום אשר יבחר':

מחר נקרא בפרשת "ראה אנכי נותן לפניכם היום"
על מרחק מזרח ממערב ומהמקום אשר יבחר.

הפרשה פותחת בתיאור מעמד שיתרחש
"בעבר הירדן דרך מבוא השמש אצל אלוני מורה" (הגדה המערבית)
ולמה שם?
"כי אתם עוברים את הירדן לבוא לרשת את הארץ.. אל המקום אשר יבחר ה'..לשכנו תדרשו ובאת שמה"

עברו אלפי שנים,
בני ישראל הגיעו מהגדה המערבית גם אל החוף המערבי.
מצד אחד- החיים הטובים.
אך מצד שני זוכרים "כי לא באתם עד עתה אל המנוחה ואל הנחלה".
גם פה במערב- "כי ירחיב את גבולך..וירחק ממך המקום אשר יבחר ה" לא שוכחים את אותו המקום.

ואיך אני יודע?
1. המסעדות המקומיות מעוטרות באותו המקום.
2. הן מקיימות את הצווי בדגים:
"את זה תאכלו מכל אשר במים אשר יש לו סנפיר וקשקשת".
ופה יש הממוווןןן דגים בים.

וגם את הצווי בעופות:
"כל ציפור טהורה תאכלו"

ההפטרה מזכירה לנו מי אנחנו ומאחלת את מה שאנו הכי צריכים היום:
"וכל בנייך לימודי ה', ורב שלום בנייך"

בימים אלה לפני הבחירות בארץ, ישראלים מכל העולם, יחזרו הביתה אל המקום אשר יבחר, בשביל לבחור מי יכנס בשערי כנסת ישראל.

ולמה באים? כי מרגישים:

The West in Eretz KY Yerushalaim – 'The Selected location':

Tomorrow we will read parshat Re'e "See I give before you this day"
about the distance of east from west and the Selected location.

The parsha opens with a description of an event that will occur
"Across the Jordan by the way of the sun at the oaks of Moreh" (the West Bank)
And why there?
"For you are crossing the Jordan to come and possess the land.. to the place that God has Selected.. You shall seek his dwelling and come there"

Thousands of years have passed,
the Israelites came from the West Bank to the West Coast.
On the one hand- the good life.
But on the other hand, we remember "for you have not yet come to rest and to the inheritance."
Even here in the West- "for he will enlarge your border…and the Selected location will become far away" We do not forget that Location.

And how do I know?
1. The local restaurants are decorated with that location.
2. They fulfill the commandment regarding fish:
"This you shall eat of all that are in the water that have fins and scales."
And here 'there are plenty fish in the sea.'

And also the commandment regarding birds:
"Every clean bird you shall eat"

The Haftarah reminds us of who we are and blesses us with what we need most today:
"All your children will be taught by God, and great will be their peace."

In these days before the elections in The Land, Israelis from all over the world will return home to the Selected location, in order to Elect who will enter the gates of the Knesset of Israel.

And why do they come? Because they feel:
