בכדי לספר לילדינו על יציאת מצרים, בני ישראל מקבלים שורת מצוות מגוונות ומעניינות;
* תפילין- "והיה לך לאות על ידך ולזכרון בין עיניך"
* ראש חודש- "החודש הזה לכם ראש חודשים" וביום שני, יום מרתין לוטר קינג, היה ראש חודש שבט.
* ופדיון הבן- "ואם לא תפדה וערפתו כל בכור בבניך תפדה"

'House of David'
ENGLISH
And this week in Eretz DC Yerushalaim:
'I have a dream', said Martin Luther King,
'Let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like a mighty stream'
(Amos 5, engraved in stone at his memorial).
Tomorrow we read the Torah portion “Bo- Come to Pharaoh… so that you may tell how I abused Egypt.”
About redeem, captives, and tefillin in the public.
The portion opens with the last three plagues, whose purpose is clear:
🔔 “I have a dream, that freedom will ring.” 🔔
Pharaoh’s servants can no longer withstand the military pressure and urge him to let the people go.
But Pharaoh refuses.
And so, at midnight, instead of dreaming, he enters a nightmare
and all the firstborn of Egypt die,
“from the firstborn of Pharaoh to the firstborn of the captive who was in the pit.”
Just before leaving Egypt,
In order that we may tell our children the story of Exodus
the Israelites are given a series of profound and meaningful commandments:
* Tefillin- “It shall be for you as a sign upon your hand and as a remembrance between your eyes.”
* Rosh Chodesh- “This month shall be for you the first of months.”
And this passed Monday, Martin Luther King Day, was Rosh Chodesh Shevat.
* Redeem of the firstborn- “And if you do not redeem it, you shall break its neck; and every firstborn of your sons you shall redeem.”
With a prayer that Ran Gvili,
“the firstborn of the captive who is in the pit”
the first to be taken and the last to return
will be redeemed.
And in the merit of this new month, the month of blossoming and growth,
may the concluding words of the Haftarah be fulfilled among us:
“Do not fear, nor be dismayed, O Israel,
for I will save you from afar,
and your offspring from the land of their captivity;
Jacob shall return and be tranquil,
with none to frighten him.”
And this coming Passover, the dream will be realized
and we will all go:
“with our young our old,
our sons and our daughters,
with our flocks and with our herds
we will all go”
to the place where the redeeming of the firstborn took place,
according to the continuation of our neighbors’ book.
