על הבחירה בלקיחת אחריות לטובת העם והארץ

השבוע טוב בפינתנו ארץ DC ירושלים:

מחר נקרא בפרשות "וילך משה וידבר ה' את הדברים האלה אל כל ישראל:
"אתם ניצבים היום כולכם לפני ה' אלוהיכם, ראשיכם שבטיכם זקניכם ושוטריכם כל איש ישראל".
על הבחירה בלקיחת אחריות לטובת העם והארץ.

השבוע הנשיא האמריקאי,
פגש את רבני חסידות סאטמר,
בנושא- התייצבות וגיוס לצה"ל..

מה הקשר?!? נענה בפשטות, הרי "לא בשמים היא".

הפרשה פותחת במילים "למען הקים אותך היום לו לעם"
המכנה המשותף המחבר את כל העם היהודי בעולם הוא; אנו צאצאי עם הספר.

נזכור זאת זה ונייצג עצמנו בכבוד; "כי אתם ידעתם את אשר עברנו… בקרב הגוים אשר עברתם"

אם נחפש להיות 'ככל הגויים' "ללכת לעבוד את אלוהי הגוים ההם"
יקרה לנו רק רע ועוד יותר רע.

אך אם נשוב אל עצמנו- "ושבת.. ושמעת.. וקיבצך מכל העמים והביאך אל הארץ וירשתה והטיבך!"
לספר- יש ארץ.

בכל העולם יהודים קוראים את אותו הספר, באותה השפה, ובו כתוב שהבחירה בידינו:
"ראה נתתי לפניך את החיים ואת הטוב VS את המוות ואת הרע"

לשם שינוי, פה אין מחלוקת!
"ובחרת בחיים! למען תחיה אתה וזרעך.. לשבת על האדמה אשר נשבע לאבותיך."

רגע לפני שמשה חותם את הספר ומניח אותו בארון הברית הוא מכין את העם למלחמה "ונתנם ה' לפניכם.. חזקו ואימצו אל תיראו ואל תערצו מפניהם"

והגויים, שאוהבים את הספר ובמיוחד את ההפטרה מישעיה מסתכלים
"וראו גויים צידקך וכל מלכים כבודך.. לארצך לא יאמר שממה, כי יקרא לך חפציבה כי חפץ ה' בארצך".

לארץ יש עיר, והיא צריכה הגנה לכן: "על חומותייך ירושלים הפקדתי שומרים כל היום וכל הלילה"

לעם היהודי בDC תפקיד אחד חשוב;
לא לשתוק אלא לדבר!

לספר לעולם על הספר, הארץ והעיר:
"למען ציון לא אחשה ולמען ירושלים לא אשקוט"!

Tomorrow we will read parashot "Moses walked and the Lord spoke these words to all Israel:
"You stand today all of you before the Lord your God, your heads of your tribes, your elders and your policeman, every man of Israel".
About the choice to take responsibility for the 'Good' of the people and the land.

This week the American President,
met with the american rabbis of the Satmar Hasidism,
on the subject of standing and enlisting in the IDF..

What is the connection?!? The answer is simple, "it is not in heaven".

The parashat opens with the words "For the sake of the Lord who raised you up today for as a people"
The common denominator that unites all the Jewish people around the world is; We are descendants of the People of the Book.

Let us remember this and represent with proud; "For you know what we have gone through… among the nations through which you have passed"

If we seek to be like all other nations "to go and serve the gods of those nations"
We will gain bad and more bad

But if we return to ourselves – "And you returned.. and listened.. and gathered you from all the nations and brought you to the land and you inherited it and you gained Good!"
The book- has a land.

All over the world, Jews read the same book, in the same language, and it says that the choice is ours:
"See, I have set before you life and good VS death and evil"

For a change, there is no dispute 'Machloket'!
"choose life! So that you and your descendants may live.. to dwell in the land that I swore to your fathers."

A moment before Moses seals the book and places it in the Ark of the Covenant, he prepares the people for war "And the Lord has given them before you.. Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or dismayed by them"

And the Gentiles, who love the book and especially the Haftarah From Isaiah are looking
"And the nations shall see your righteousness, and all kings your glory.. Your land shall not be called a wilderness, for you shall be called Hepzibah for the Lord delights in your land".
*There are 3 local cities in the US called Hepzibah

The land has a city, and it needs protection therefore: "On your walls, Jerusalem, I have set watchmen day and night"

The Jewish people in DC have one important role;
not to be silent- but to speak!

To tell the world about the book, the land and the city:
"For Zion's sake I will not be silent and for Jerusalem's sake I will not be silent"!
